Kindergarten & New Student Registration Information

This page is for Kindergarten through 12th grade students who are NEW STUDENTS at Baird ISD.  

If your child attended Pre-K at Baird ISD during the 2023-2024 school year, go to the Returning Student Registration page and follow the directions there.

    • To attend kindergarten in the 2024-2025 school year, students must be five years of age or older on or before September 1, 2024.
    • Enrolling new Kindergarten students at BISD will be done completely online through our BISD Ascender ParentPortal program. 

  • Documentation REQUIRED FOR ALL NEW TO THE DISTRICT Pre-K, Elementary, and Secondary student registrations: 

    • Child’s Original Birth Certificate  

    • Current Proof of Residency (electric bill, water bill, or lease agreement) BISD will not accept cable, phone, gas, etc.

    • Immunization Records 

    • Child’s Original Social Security Card 

    • Parent/Guardian valid/unexpired government issued photo id, such as passport, driver’s license or state ID.

  • If you are new to Baird ISD, you will need to create an Ascender ParentPortal Account. 

  • Once you are on our Ascender ParentPortal page, click on "Create Account" and follow the on screen instructions.

After you create your ParentPortal Account, you will then go to "My Account" and then click on "Enroll a New Student".

When you are logged onto your ParentPortal account, you can always click on the "?" button in the upper right hand corner of the page to get Help with any part of your ParentPortal.
